Personal Statement

Professor Adeola Oyenike Adeosun is a distinguished scholar of English Education and Literature Pedagogy at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She earned her PhD from the University of Ibadan, winning the Fafunwa Educational Foundation Doctoral Award, and has since built an international reputation through over sixty publications, six co-edited books, and editorial leadership in major academic journals, including LER and JIALE.

A licensed teacher and trained journalist, she is also a curriculum development and assessment specialist, serving as external examiner and assessor for several universities, and consulting for national and international bodies including NUC, JAMB, JUPEB, and the World Bank Lagos Eko Project. Actively engaged in global networks, she contributes to the UNESCO/UNITWIN Africa-Asia University Network, the British Council and Warwick University’s Future of English Project, and holds a Visiting Research Fellowship at Hiroshima University’s CICE.

She is a member of leading professional associations such as ILA, LiPAN and IALE. Her work advances literacy, pedagogy, curriculum innovation, and educational development across Nigeria and beyond.
