Simeon Adebayo Oladipo (PhD) is a Professor of Educational Administration and Leadership. He is the Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos. His research interests include institutional quality improvement and educational policy studies. His teaching experience spans over four decades through primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Apart from his research and classroom experiences, he has served numerous capacities, which include Member, Governing Council, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin; Member of the Senate of the University of Lagos; Member, Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies, and Deputy Director of Quality Assurance and SERVICOM Unit, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos. He was instrumental to the development of evaluation tools for quality teaching-learning process and enhanced service delivery in the University.
He was appointed the Principal of the University of Lagos International School. Oladipo was the Co-Host to the team of the Fulbright-Hays African Studies project in Nigeria. The team interfaced with Nigerian education experts for the purpose of systematic implementation of African curricula for primary, secondary and university classrooms in South Carolina, USA. He has served as External Examiner, Assessor, and Moderator to Universities within and outside Nigeria. He was a Facilitator for World Bank Education Projects in Nigeria; Facilitator for numerous government agencies, including Ministries of Education; Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board; and Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board. He is a Principal Consultant at Teaching Trade Ltd, among others.
He has contributed to the establishment of institutions, capacity building, school assessments and quality assurance in educational and allied institutions. He also served on numerous university administrative panels. He led delegations to International Academic Programmes and Sports Championships in Ghent, Belgium and Manchester, UK. He also participated in the leadership training at the Beijing Institute of Technology in China aimed at pioneering Chinese Language in selected Nigerian schools. He is a Fellow of the Association of Educational Management & Policy Practitioners, Fellow, Institute of Security, Nigeria. His professional affiliations also include the Nigerian Institute of Management; Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning, an affiliate of the Commonwealth Council on Educational Administration and Management; British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society; and Educational Research Network for West and Central Africa. He also belongs to the Africa-Asia Universities Dialogue Network in Japan. He has over 70 scholarly papers to his credit and has presented papers at national and international conferences held in the UK, USA, Canada, Switzerland, China, Japan, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Kenya, Ghana among others.
He is an enthusiastic mentor. He has supervised numerous undergraduate research projects, master’s and doctoral theses in Educational Administration. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of numerous institutions and Non- Governmental Organizations. Professor Oladipo is a sagacious administrator, who is committed to transforming Nigeria’s education sector.
