Associate Professor Shobowale Ishola Olukayode is a faculty member in the Department of Technology and Vocational Education, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos, Nigeria, where he was promoted to Associate Professor on 1st October 2024, having previously served as Senior Lecturer (2021–2024), Lecturer I (2018–2021), Lecturer II (2015–2018), and Assistant Lecturer (2010–2015). He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Technical Education — Building/Woodwork (2015) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, an M.Ed. in Industrial Technical Education — Building/Woodwork (2007) and a B.Sc.(Ed.) in Industrial Technical Education — Building/Woodwork (1998), both from the University of Benin, Benin City, as well as an M.Sc. in Facilities Management (2025) from the University of Lagos, an NCE (Technical) in Building Construction from the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka (1992), and a Full Technology Certificate in Building Crafts Supplementary Studies from the Federal Technical College, Yaba/City and Guilds of London Institute (1994). A TETFund Ph.D. scholarship recipient, he has garnered multiple professional honours, including the Best Technology Teacher of the Year Award from NATT (2015), the Distinguished Honorary Award for Contribution to the School of Technical Education from the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka (2023), and the Meritorious Award for Excellence in Teaching Practice Supervision from the University of Lagos Faculty of Education PGDE Class (2019/2020). His research interests encompass Building and Woodwork Technology Education, entrepreneurship and techno-preneurship skills development, TVET policy, facilities management, youth employability, and sustainable development. He has published over 30 articles in reputable national and international journals  including publications in Botswana, Tanzania, South Africa, and Togo — contributed three book chapters to edited volumes published by the University of Lagos Press, and presented papers at numerous national and international conferences, including the Global Education Network’s 12th Multidisciplinary Conference at Liverpool Hope University, UK (2023), the ARUA Pre-Conference Workshops in Kenya and South Africa, and the AVTEN Annual International Conference. He currently serves as a Visiting Lecturer at Lagos State University of Education, an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Benin (for the FCE Technical Akoka Degree Programme), External Moderator/Assessor at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, and WAEC Examiner for Woodwork since 1996. He has supervised 1 completed and 2 ongoing Ph.D. students, 2 completed and 4 ongoing Master’s students, 15 PGDE students, and 115 undergraduate students at the University of Lagos.
