Personal Statement
Afoma Rosefelicia OKUDO, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer and is currently teaching in the Department of Arts and Language Education. University of Lagos, Nigeria after a stretch of journalism practices. She obtained Diploma in Norms, Values, Language and Culture on Global Development Challenges from Bergen Summer Research School, University of Bergen, Norway, 2011.
She is also Lead Reviewer and Translator (Igbo) for TAUS Human Language Development Project,2022. She belongs to various professional bodies. Her area of research interest includes indigenous languages promotion and preservation using modern technologies– especially the Igbo language and culture; indigenous education and literacy; promoting communicative skills and mother tongue in early childhood, as well as literacy skills development; teacher education and development; development, revitalization and documentation of indigenous languages and cultural heritage.
