Dr. (Mrs.) Adebisi Elizabeth Banjo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Arts Education, Faculty of Education, at the University of Lagos. She also serves as the Departmental Coordinator for Arts Education at the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos. Her academic expertise is centered on Curriculum Development, Yoruba Language Pedagogy, and Language Education across Yoruba language, literature, and culture.

Academic and Professional Career
- She has been an Associate Professor at the University of Lagos since 2023.
- Prior to her current role, she served as a Senior Lecturer and Lecturer I at the University of Lagos between 2017 and 2023.
- She dedicated two decades to the Tai Solarin College of Education and Tai Solarin University of Education, advancing from Lecturer III to Principal Lecturer between 1997 and 2017.
- She began her teaching career as a Class Teacher at Adeola Odutola College, serving from 1989 to 1997.
Research, Supervision, and Awards
- Her current research initiatives focus on Dual Language Self-Directed Learning Applications and the integration of Animated-Folktales to enhance Yoruba L2 skills, culture, and morals.
- She has extensive supervisory experience, having mentored 68 undergraduate students alongside numerous postgraduate students.
- Banjo’s work has been supported by TETFUND Sponsorships in both 2013 and 2023.
- She was honored with the Award for Quality Research and Supervision by the Faculty of Education and PGDE Students of the University of Lagos for the 2019/2020 academic year.
National Service and Professional Leadership
- She is a National Service Text Writer for Creative Nei-Plus (2020), where she contributed to the USAID Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) Development by authoring pupils’ textbooks and teachers’ guides for “Jé̩ ká kàwé Basic – 1- 3” Yoruba early grade reading.
- She served as the National Treasurer for the Literacy Promotion Association Nigeria (LiPAN) from 2022 to 2024.
- She actively holds memberships in distinguished societies, including the Curriculum Organisation of Nigeria (CON), the Association of Nigerian Language Teachers and Association of African Language Teachers.
