Professor Oladiran Stephen Olabiyi is a Professor of Technology and Vocational Education in the Department of Technology and Vocational Education, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos, Nigeria, a rank he has held since 2022. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Technical Education (2009) and an M.Ed. in Industrial Technical Education— Building/Woodwork Technology (2005), both from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, a B.Tech.Ed. in Industrial Education — Woodwork Technology (1999) from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and an NCE (Technical) in Woodwork/Technical Drawing (1993) from Saint Andrews College of Education, Oyo, in addition to certification as a Business Development Service Provider (2024).

With over two decades of university-level teaching experience, he has progressively risen through the academic ranks at the University of Lagos — from Lecturer II (2010) to Associate Professor (2019) — having also served as Pioneer Acting Head of the Department of Technology and Vocational Education (2022–2023) and on sabbatical at the Department of Educational Technology, University of Ilorin (2024–2025).

His research interests encompass technology and vocational education, woodwork and building technology, STEM education, entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, and the integration of ICT and artificial intelligence in technical education.

A prolific scholar with 95 publications indexed online, an h-index of 13 and an i10-index of 15, and over 763 citations on Google Scholar, he has authored five textbooks, contributed over 15 book chapters to national and international edited volumes — including publications by IGI Global (USA) and Trafford Publishing (USA and Canada) — and published extensively in reputable peer-reviewed journals across Romania, Spain, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Uganda, South Africa, Japan, Ukraine, and Nigeria. He has presented papers at numerous national and international conferences, including the TEPAN Annual National Conferences and an international seminar at Universiti TeknologiMalaysia, and has supervised over 200 undergraduate students, 12 Master’s students, and 3 Ph.D. candidates at the University of Lagos.
