About the Department
The Department of Educational Administration came into existence in October 1975, with Curriculum Studies assuming the status of a different department. It is on record that the Department of Educational Management had existed as Department of Educational Administration and Curriculum Studies during the period 1967 to 1975 under the collegiate system.
The Department of Educational Management, as it is known today, started to bear the name in October 2016.
It is indeed noteworthy that the department works in cooperation with other departments in the Faculty and in the University as a whole, in teaching professional education courses and in content teaching subjects. This is to ensure that students are thoroughly exposed to various aspects of their teaching subjects and other relevant learning experiences that abound in the University of Lagos. A department like ours that is geared towards the development of first class manpower in its field has no option but to work in concert with other colleagues in similar fields.
