Dr. Adesola Adebamgbe Afuye was born In Ikere-Ekiti over 60 years ago. He attended St Luke’s Anglican Primary School, Ikere-Ekiti, St. Benedict’s Catholic Modern School, Ikere-Ekiti; St Peter’s College, Akure; he proceeded to College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti for his NCE certificate. He bagged his First Degree at University of Ilorin. 

He attended University of Lagos for his Masters Degree (M.Ed. Sports Psychology). 

He had MBA from Ondo State University, Akungba-Akoko. He had his Ph.D in Sports and Exercise Psychology from University of Lagos.

His working experience span over four decades as Primary School Teacher, Secondary School Teacher and as a journalist.

He worked extensively in the NGO (Young Men’s Christian Association-YMCA) for 23 years. He rose to become the CEO of The National Council of YMCAs of Nigeria before he disengaged to join University of Lagos as a Lecturer in the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos.

Dr. Sola Afuye is a prolific writer, an erudite scholar, a mentor to many students, a community leader and a loving father. He has travelled far and wide within and outside Nigeria. He has bagged many awards. It is pertinent to remark that he is happily married with children.
