Personal Statement
Professor Gladys O. Esiobu is a Professor of Science Education at the University of Lagos.
She obtained her Ph.D in Curriculum Studies (Biology Education) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1991.
She was a former Head of Department of the defunct Department of Science and Technology Education, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos.
She has supervised many Doctoral and Masters’ degree students to completion.
She is a prolific writer and has published in reputable national and international journals. She is a member of the Curriculum Organisation of Nigeria (CON) and the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN).
She has over 40 peer-reviewed articles in both national and international journals. Her main research focus has been on Constructivism. She is currently engaged in furthering researches and organizing training/workshops aimed at empowering science teachers on innovative students’ engagement.
