Personal Statement

Professor Adeneye O. A. Awofala is a Professor of Science and Mathematics Education at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He obtained his Ph.D in Teacher Education (Mathematics Education) from the University of Ibadan in 2010. His research focuses on STEM education with a strong bias in Mathematics Education.

As a visiting Professor and former Associate Dean of Research in the College of Education, Open, and Distance Learning, Kampala International University, Uganda (2024-2025), Professor Awofala has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles in both national and international journals. His scholarly works are available on Google Scholar, Academia, ResearchGate, Scopus, ORCID, and Loop.

He is currently a co-investigator in the TETFUND-funded research project on evaluation of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme and its impact on university education in Nigeria. He is a Life member of the Mathematical Association of Nigeria and reviewer to many national and international journals such as International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology, Discover Education, SN Social Sciences, Digital Education Review, Nigerian Online Journal of Educational Sciences and Technology, and The Journal of the Mathematical Association of Nigeria-ABACUS.

He is a registered member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Professor Awofala has successfully supervised 6 Ph.D students to graduation and 29 Master’s degree students to completion.
