Dr. Rachael O. Okunuga

Personal Statement
Dr. Toun Okunuga is an Associate Professor in the Department of Science Education at the University of Lagos, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria.
She holds a B.Sc., Chemistry (1985) from University of Ilorin; PGDE, 1997, from Lagos State University; M.Ed., 2003 and Ph.D., 2014 (Chemistry Education), from University of Lagos.Â
Her research focuses on curriculum and instruction, ICT, skills acquisition and professional teacher development. She has published over 30 academic papers both locally and internationally.Â
She is currently working with her research team on environmental degradation and the implications for sustainable Universities in Nigeria.
 She has also attended academic conferences and workshops both locally and internationally.Â
She is an active member of Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), American Chemical Society (ACS), Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and Organisation for women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). She is happily married with children.
