Personal Statement

I am a dedicated Evaluator and an Associate Professor of Measurement and Evaluation, with a deep passion for Educational Measurement, Psychometric Research, Programme Evaluation, and technology innovations in assessment. My expertise spans business and workforce measurement, technology-enhanced assessments, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) automated scoring, data and learning analytics, and gamified testing methods to advance educational outcomes. I have over three decades of teaching experience across all levels of the educational system, I have spent more than fifteen years specializing in Educational Psychology, Measurement and Evaluation. I bring this extensive experience to my roles in academia, research, and professional practice. I authored a book on Programme Evaluation and Applied Psychometrics and co-authored a textbook titled Test Administration for Teachers and Psychologists. I have supervised more than sixty (60) postgraduate students and over one hundred (100) undergraduate research projects.

My professional focus includes the design and evaluation of standardized assessments, test construction and administration, and the development of tests with strong psychometric properties. I am an active member of several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Association of Evaluators (NAE), Nigerian society of Educational Psychologists (NISEP), Association of Educational Evaluators and Researchers of Nigeria (ASSEREN), Teachers Registration council of Nigeria (TRCN) and the International Institute for Policy Review and Development Strategies (IIPRDS). I have published over forty-five (45) scholarly articles in reputable national and international journals. My research is driven by the need to address critical challenges in standardized testing, continuous assessment, and teachers' competencies in test construction. I am particularly interested in improving student achievement evaluation through the use of tables of specification, item analysis, and integrating technology and AI into teaching and assessment practices. I advocate for equity and fairness in assessment through the responsible use of data and serve as a mentor to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

In addition to my academic responsibilities, I provide academic leadership and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on large-scale studies. I have also contributed significantly to professional development through training programs, seminars, and webinars, working with organizations such as the International Council for Education, Research and Training (ICERT) and IIPRDS.I am happily married and blessed with children.
