Dr. Mojisola Nkechi Manuel is a seasoned educationist and academic leader who joined the University of Lagos in 2011 as a Lecturer in the Department of Arts and Social Sciences Education, with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. She currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Centre at the University of Lagos, where she is driving initiatives that integrate entrepreneurial thinking into education from early years through tertiary levels.

Dr. Manuel earned her B.A. (Ed) in Adult Education (English) in 1996, M.Ed in Early Childhood Education in 2002, and Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education in 2014—all from the University of Lagos. Her teaching and research focus on embedding Unique Selling Propositions (USPs) into preschool and primary school curricula, ensuring Nigerian children receive globally competitive, contextually relevant education from their formative years.

A multi-award-winning lecturer, Dr. Manuel was recognized as Best Lecturer in 2014, Most Prolific Lecturer in 2015, and Most Daring Lecturer in 2016 within her department. These accolades reflect her dynamic teaching style, innovation in curriculum delivery, and commitment to student-centered learning.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Manuel has worked extensively as a consultant and facilitator for national and international education development initiatives. She contributed to the Orderly Society Trust, an NGO initiated by Nigeria’s former Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, focusing on access to quality education for disadvantaged children. She has also facilitated teacher training sessions for Corona Schools Teacher Training College and participated in UNICEF-led workshops—notably the 2013 mass literacy training for Lagos State teachers and the 2015 campaign against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), where she served as a field researcher.

In 2014, she co-led a team that reviewed and redesigned the curriculum for the University of Lagos Women Society Nursery and Primary School, making it benchmarked against top-performing curricula globally. Today, this curriculum is being used in several elite schools across Nigeria.

Dr. Manuel has authored and co-authored numerous academic papers and has written Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning textbooks for Primary 1–6, published by Foursquare Publishers. She was also part of the Chris Jolly team that conducted the EGRA/BURT Reading Assessment Tests for Lagos State primary school pupils in 2016.

She plays several leadership roles within the University of Lagos community as a Senate Member, Hall Warden of Madam Tinubu Hall, and former Coordinator of the Sandwich Degree Programme, which currently serves over 3,000 students. She is also the founder of the Golden Teachers Platform, a vibrant network that empowers and inspires teachers across Nigeria.

Dr. Mojisola Manuel is deeply passionate about advancing early childhood education, promoting inclusive learning, and equipping teachers with the skills and mindset to thrive in 21st-century classrooms. She is happily married and a proud mother.
