Personal Statement

Dr. Benson Peter Irabor is a Lecturer II at the University of Lagos, in Philosophy of Education with specialisation in Philosophy, African Philosophy, Intercultural Philosophy, and Educational Development.

He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Lagos (2023), an M.Ed. in Philosophy of Education (Distinction) from Lagos State University, an M.A. in Philosophy (Ethics), and a PGDE.

His research interests include African philosophy, philosophy of education, ethics, educational development, self-reliance, indigenous knowledge systems, and national development.

He has published extensively in international, national, and institutional journals, with over twenty scholarly publications spanning philosophy, education, ethics, African studies, and pedagogy across reputable journals.

He is a member of several academic and professional bodies, including the Philosophy of Education Association of Nigeria (PEAN), Philosophers Association of Nigeria (PAN), Association of Philosophy Professionals of Nigeria (APPON), Faculties of Arts/Humanities Scholars’ Association of Nigerian Universities (FAHSANU), and the Association for the Promotion of African Studies (APAS).
