Personal Statement

Dr. Alade, Oluwatomi Modupeola who is currently a Professor of Measurement and Evaluation at the University of Lagos, was born on 19th July, 1960. she attended Reagan Memorial Baptist Primary School, Onike and Methodist Girls’ High School, Yaba – Lagos for her primary and secondary levels education after which she obtained the NCE qualification from the Ogun State College of Education, Ijebu-Ode in I981.

She taught as a Science teacher at Kano Teachers’ College for her primary assignment during her NYSC service year in Kano State in the year 1982. She obtained her B.Sc. (Ed.) Biology and M.Ed. (Educational Psychology) degrees from the University of Lagos in 1988 and 1996 respectively. She proceeded to University of Ibadan where she obtained her Ph.D. in (Educational Evaluation) in the year 2002.


Dr. Alade joined the Academic staff of the University of Lagos in November, 2006 as Lecturer II in the Department of Educational Foundations. She has since been teaching courses in Measurement and Evaluation at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Faculty of Education.

She has supervised over 110 students’ undergraduate projects in Education, 114 research projects at Masters’ level and successfully produced 9 Ph.D. graduates (7 of them as the first supervisor and 2 as the second). Dr. Alade has attended many academic conferences both within and outside Nigeria and has published over 40 journal articles in reputable journals also within and outside Nigeria.
