Dr. (Mrs.) Bukola Ahimie is an Associate Professor of Guidance and Counselling in the Department of Educational Foundations, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos. She holds a B.Ed. from University of Benin and M.Ed./Ph.D. degrees from the University of Lagos.

A professional counselling psychologist and psychotherapist, workplace counselling consultant, educator, researcher, and supervisor, she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervises theses and practicum exercises, and mentors aspiring counsellors in line with global ethical standards.

She attended the 2025 Transform Trauma Oxford: Healing Our Relational World conference and is a beneficiary of the 2025 Nigerian Higher Education Foundation programme. Through collaborations and mentorship, she has shared over 300 scholarship and job opportunity links with students and graduates in the past six months.

Dr. Ahimie serves as a facilitator at the UNILAG Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Centre of Excellence, consults with counselling organizations, and has contributed to research and workplace mental health initiatives, including serving as an in-house counsellor.

Her research focuses on workplace counselling, employee mental health awareness, mental healthcare utilization, and practicum frameworks for counselling training.

She is actively involved in numerous university committees and editorial boards and is affiliated with several professional bodies, including Association of Professional Counsellors in Nigeria, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, American Counselling Association, Employee Assistance Professionals Association, and Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Africa. Her work is published in both national and international journals.
